I’ve never read any of your books or your previous comics. But I picked up Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 today because, well, I don’t get my mail order comics for another fortnight and I have withdrawal symptoms without new reading material.
What a fantastic read it was!
You find so many comic writers nowadays who are completely unsympathetic with their artists, but here you could see the deftness of the script at work. The room left for Jerome Opena to tell the story with some awesome, powerful artwork which had both single panels that made your mouth gape, and scenes that had such fluidity. The moment of Moon Knight surfing the side of the car outside the cafe, for example, was perfect.
In fact the wording, the pacing, the art. Everything was spot on.
As a long time fan of Moon Knight it was so impressed by this issue. Over the top action and amazing artwork and writing. To me it had everything a first issue should have and on top of that it left people wanting more.
People always say that Moon Knight is Marvel`s Batman but he`s never seemed to really grab the mainstream comic fan like Batman has. I think this first issue was a great first step in that direction.
The thing that makes Batman and Spiderman so popular is not only are they themselves relatable but they have an amazing supporting cast and rogues gallery. Moon Knight has always had the supporting cast but to me has never really had a stable rogues gallery since probably the first series by Doug Moench.
I like what I see here so far Mr. Hurwtiz and I have very high hopes for the future of this title. I definately think it`s in great hands. Also I`ve very much enjoyed your previous work on Foolkiller and Punisher.
Very cool artwork, Gregg!

There goes another $3.00 a month.
Thanks, guys. Glad you enjoyed.
